Published by the Burger Collection (Hong Kong),‘Torrent’ provides information and source material related to the work of artists it represents by focusing on in-depth conversations with diverse authors, practitioners and producers. In this issue, Indian artist Nalini Malani extensively discusses how her multimedia projects draw upon mythology to express themes of gender, memory, transnational politics and postcolonial history. Also featured are an alternative approach to the transcultural system of art, a short summary of the Burger Collection’s funding and works on loan, and an overview of the ‘Quadrilogy’ exhibition and research project.
