Olivier G. Fatton – Coco

Olivier G. Fatton – Coco

Olivier Fatton met Coco on a Sunday in November 1989. This "light, yet so melancholy angel" fascinated the photographer from the first moment. While having a coffee in a Bernese gay pub, they make a photographic contract: Coco poses for him and Fatton documents her gender adjustment. The pact became a love affair during which Fatton made numerous shots of Coco. Intimate portraits, staged fashion photography, at home, on the road, in clubs and in the mountains show the many facets of the dazzling Coco. And again and again, these big, melancholy eyes. Her eyes became her second mouth, she once said. And because Coco's thousand-page autobiography was stolen by thieves, these eyes tell us about the life of a camellia lady of the twentieth century.

264 pages, softcover, 25 x 19 cm, Edition Patrick Frey (Zurich).
