Christophe Maout – On Birds (Des oiseaux)

Christophe Maout – On Birds (Des oiseaux)

In the spring of 2020, while France is locked down for a few weeks, the birds envelop silent cities, emptied of human activity and its nuisances. Locked in his Parisian apartment, Christophe Maout decides to stealthily photograph birds he sees passing in the distance from his balcony. Maout here revives the ornithological tradition of observation, adding his own artistic framing and colour as he varies the time of day, the orientation of the sun and the species of bird.

96 pages, 20.5 x 26 cm, hardcover, Atelier EXB (Paris).
